Team Leader Natalie

I am Natalie the Team Leader in the Tigger’s room. I have worked at Bright Beginnings Day Nursery and Preschool since 2012.

Since starting at Bright Beginnings, I have become a qualified Early Years Teacher and one of the setting SENCOs. This has enabled me to enhance my knowledge and skills to support all the children in nursery not just those in the preschool room.

I attend many different training courses throughout the year to continue to keep my skills and knowledge relevant and up to date.

I strive to ensure that all the children who settle in Tiggers preschool room are challenged throughout their sessions to support them to reach their full potential. Using continuous provision, wanderlust seasonal planned activities and their own individual next steps which are tailored to develop their current development.

In the Tiggers room we are continually working hard to enhance and develop our outdoor environment to develop opportunities for the children using natural and recycled materials. We have an outdoor kitchen and an outdoor music area and a water area.

The Room

Children demonstrate higher levels of emotional wellbeing but are still supported by adults to co-function to support children who meet difficulty with solution. They reflect and communicate about their learning and their experiences as they refer to displays and display books and take pride in their products, such as sowing a seed, reflecting on their learning opportunities.

Children within Tiggers will now have access to the full Boogie Mites ‘School Ready Programme’ & an introduction to the ‘Mathematics’ Programme that will provide children with further development in this specific area of the EYFS. Children’s skills will be further extended to according to their interests to encourage Active Learning & Creating and Thinking Critically when problem solving to make musical instruments for use during Boogie Mites sessions.

Providing children with opportunity to speak in small and larger groups improves confidence and children’s ability within social situations. Through providing Wanderlust inspired nature activities, maths and literacy activities staff work hard to further develop language across all areas of learning. 

Children’s artistic and cultural awareness is also supported through opportunities for pretend play and role play opportunities to support their imagination and creativity. Children are also given the opportunity to experience different cultures through the medium of media and music, introducing them to the wider world and our British Values.
